Everlast has scored hit songs with Jump Around (1992), What's It's Like (1998), and has won a Grammy Award for the song Put Your Lights On (2000) that he both wrote and performed with Santana. With Put Your Lights On Everlast and Santana won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

Everlast converted to Islam in 1996 and in 2009 he married model and Penthouse Pet April 2005 Cassia Riley.
