Former Tampa Bay Rays skipper Joe Maddon took over management reins for the organization in 2006 and soon lifted the team to much loftier heights when he led them to the World Series in 2008. The Rays would fall to the Philadelphia Phillies but because of their success they gained the respect of the fans.

In November 2010, Joe Maddon purchased a 3,450 square foot Mediterranean style home in Tampa for $899,000. The home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and includes a swimming pool, balcony, whirlpool spa, game room, brick paver driveway, plus Brazilian hardwood cherry floors & staircase.
