NFL outside linebacker Shawne Merriman joined the San Diego Chargers in 2005. Shawne Merriman was selected to the Pro Bowl in his 2005 rookie season, and again in 2006 and 2007.

Shawne Merriman had resided in the Scripps Ranch community of San Diego, California until April of 2008 when he moved the nearby town of Poway with his girlfriend - reality TV star Tila Tequila. In Poway, Merriman purchased a three bedroom contemporary style home with a deck, swimming pool, hot tub/spa, and 2,491 square feet.

Built in 1979, the home is set on 1.42 acres and offers great views of the mountains. In June 2016, Shawne Merriman sold the Poway home for $975,000.
