In December 2011, Major League Baseball pitcher Heath Bell agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract with the Miami Marlins. Five months later the Orange County, California native purchased a Mediterranean style home in the Santaluz community of San Diego for $955,000. The home, which he shares with his wife Nicole and their four children, was built in 2003 and has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a half, three fireplaces, swimming pool, and 4,104 square feet.

The home was listed for $1,039,000 prior to the sale.
Heath Bell has been residing in the San Diego area since 2007 when he played for the Padres. Heath Bell began his MLB career in 2004 with the Mets where he played for two years before joining the Padres, and was selected to the All-Star game in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
