Retired Major League baseball player Chipper Jones was born in DeLand, Florida. Chipper Jones made his MLB debut in 1993 with the Atlanta Braves and has spent his entire career there. In June of 2005, the 8x All-Star third baseman paid $700,000 for a four-bed, three-bath home in Celebration, Florida. Built in 2003, the two-story home has 3,398 square feet and also offers a swimming pool & spa. The Celebration community is located near the Walt Disney World resort and has a population of over 11,000.
The Celebration community is separated into areas referred to as villages. These villages are the main village - where the first homes were constructed - North Village, South Village, East Village, West Village, Aquila Reserve and Artisan Park. Lake Evalyn is generally considered its own area of Celebration but not quite its own village, and offers a small lake which has ducks, alligators, and otters.
