How Did Thomas Rhett Become Famous?

Country singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett Akins Jr is the son of singer Rhett Akins. He started playing drums in junior high and would even join his dad on stage sometimes. He went off to Lipscomb University in Nashville to study communications, but his love for music was too strong. so h dropped out when he was 20 to chase his music dreams. He got a deal with Big Machine Label Group to write songs and even co-wrote a song for Jason Aldean’s 2010 album. In 2011, he signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records’ Valory Music Group. Since then, he’s released six albums and 21 singles that made it to the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, with 17 hitting the number one spot. He’s also been nominated for four Grammy Awards and two of his albums were up for Best Country Album in 2017 and 2019.
