How Did Blues Traveler Become Famous?

Blues Traveler started out in New Jersey back in 1987. The band was just a high school project for John Popper and Brendan Hill at first. They went by The Establishment, then Blues Band, before finally settling on Blues Traveler. Their big break came in 1994 with their fourth album titled “four”. The album turned out hits like “Run-Around” which charted at number 8, and “Hook” which charted at 23. “Run-Around” even won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. “Four” was a huge success and was certified as 6× Platinum by the RIAA, which means it sold 6 million copies in the U.S.

In 2023, Blues Traveler released the album Traveler's Soul, which includes a cover of the 1990 hit single by Deee-Lite "Groove Is in the Heart." Below you can watch the video for "Groove Is in the Heart" by Blues Traveler.
