Why is Bakar Famous

Bakar, whose real name is Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr, is an English musician known for his unique and experimental indie rock style.

His journey into the music world began in 2015 when he started creating music by cutting up samples of Bombay Bicycle Club and King Krule songs and uploading them to SoundCloud. His first official independent release was the single “Big Dreams” in March 2017, which later gained popularity after being featured on the official soundtrack of the video game FIFA 19.

Bakar's breakthrough came with the release of his mixtape “Badkid” in May 2018. This was followed by the release of his single “Hell n Back” in 2019. In September 2023, Bakar released a remix of "Hell n Back" with American singer Summer Walker on his album Halo. In April 2024, Seven months after its release, the remix landed on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 53.
