How Did Abi Carter Become Famous?

During her season 22 audition of American Idol in Santa Barbara, California, Abi Carter seized the spotlight as the final contestant of the day. The Indio, California native's rendition of Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" captivated judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, earning her one of the coveted platinum tickets, reserved for the top three performers. Carter's performance struck a personal chord with the judges.

Throughout the season, Carter continued to impress, delivering poignant performances such as a soulful rendition of My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade." Emotions ran high, particularly for Perry, who was moved to tears during the tribute.
