Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys was born on January 28, 1980 in Jamestown, New York. At a young age, Nick moved with his family to Florida where his parents, Robert and Jane, would operate a retirement home. Nick has been a resident of both Apollo Beach, which is located near Tampa, and Marathon, which is located in the Florida Keys.

The town of Marathon is located on Key Vaca, which is one of the many islands that make up the Florida Keys. Vaca is the Spanish word for cow. It is believed that this key was originally named after the manatees, also referred to as sea cows, that live in abundance there. Click here for an aerial photo of Key Vaca.

In 2004, Robert and Jane divorced. Confrontations would lead to both being arrested only days apart. On one occasion, Jane reportedly assaulted Robert's girlfriend upon finding her with Robert at the couple's home in Marathon.

Since parting ways, both have remarried. Robert went on to wed girlfriend Ginger Elrod, and Jane would move to Brooksville, FL, and walk down the isle with a Mr. John Holcomb. In mid 2005, Robert and Ginger purchased a home in the town of Okahumpka, FL, which is located approximately 40 miles northwest of Orlando. The couple now live in a two-story log style home set on five acres of land in Fort McCoy, Florida. ( click here for more information).

In late 2006 Jane and John divorced. Jane would soon walk down the isle again, this time with a Mr. Greg Shneck of Brooksville.

In June of 2006 Nick purchased a three bedroom, four bathroom home in Parkland, Florida for just over $1.3 million, which he now has on the market. Nick's most recent home purchase is a newly-constructed home in Franklin, Tennessee. Click here to see Nick Carter's homes.
