Why is Charli XCX Famous?

Charli XCX, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, was born on August 2, 1992. She's an English singer and songwriter. She grew up in Essex after being born in Cambridge. She started posting her music on Myspace in 2008. This led to a promoter discovering her and inviting her to perform at warehouse raves.

In 2010, she signed a deal with Asylum Records. She then released a bunch of singles and mixtapes in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, Charli XCX became famous with the song "I Love It", which she made with Icona Pop. It was a big hit, making it to the top 10 in North America and Europe.

Her first studio album, True Romance, came out in 2013. Even though it had good reviews, it didn't sell as much as they hoped. In 2014, she worked on "Fancy" with rapper Iggy Azalea. This song was one of the best-selling singles worldwide that year and was nominated for two Grammy Awards. That same year, she released "Boom Clap", which was her first solo top-ten single on the Billboard Hot 100. She also released her second studio album, Sucker, at the end of 2014. This album was influenced by punk music and had popular singles like "Break the Rules" and "Doing It".
