The Covenant Plot

During Sergeant John Kinley's final tour of duty in Afghanistan, he's partnered with a local interpreter named Ahmed to survey the area. Unfortunately, their unit is ambushed while on patrol, and Kinley and Ahmed are the only ones who survive. With enemy combatants chasing them, Ahmed risks his own life to carry the injured Kinley across miles of difficult terrain to safety. After returning to the United States, Kinley discovers that Ahmed and his family were not granted passage to America as promised. Kinley is determined to protect his friend and repay his debt, so he goes back to Afghanistan to rescue Ahmed and his family before local militias get to them first.
