Naples, Casey Key, Longboat Key Could See Direct Impact From Hurricane Irma
As major Hurricane Irma moves westward, forecast models suggest the powerful storm will impact Florida's west coast possibly by Sunday. Many celebs call Florida's west coast home, including television's most popular court judge Judge who owns a home in Naples. Other Naples celebrity residents include sports legends Larry Bird and Mike Ditka. A little further up the coast are the homes of horror fiction novelist Stephen King on Casey Key, and Jerry Springer on Bird Key, both near Sarasota. Continuing north we have Joe Perry, the lead guitarist for Aerosmith, and tennis star Maria Sharapova who both have homes on Longboat Key.
The National Hurricane Center as of 11 PM, Friday Sept 8, believes Hurricane Irma will move toward Southwest Florida from its current location near the northern coast of Cuba. Irma is a category 5 hurricane, the strongest category classification with 160 mph. winds. The National Hurricane Center thinks Irma should start having a big impact on Florida by early Sunday morning. Let's all hope only that everyone, celebritiy or not, will be spared Irma's wrath.
