"Mentally just know that, yeah it's a big day and of course everyone out there wants to win so I think just recognizing the fact that not everyone is gonna win and just going out there and making yourself so proud when you step onstage, and just be up there, embrace the moment" ... "be proud of everything that you have worked on for that prep and the changes that you've had made, and yeah, go have fun with it all." -Lauren Simpson's advice on how to prepare for a bodybuilding show.

135kg/297lbs x1 Squat. ⚡️ Back in training with @australianstrengthcoach Worked through a wave load scheme (3/2/1) to this top single. - Today I squatted with flat soled shoes instead of my weightlifting shoes that I usually wear. - The reason why? Today’s goal was to lift heavy and the strongest technique to squat the heaviest weight is to utilise the strongest structure of the lower body which is usually the hip extensors rather than the knee extensors, or to put it simply - your glutes are usually stronger than your quads. - The best way to make a squat more hip dominant is by pushing the knees out and butt back which also means that the shin bone will be more vertical and the best footwear for this is flat soles shoes. - Using elevated heels are still great but they will change the angle of my shins, allowing my knees to come forward more which results in a more upright torso angle. This makes the squat more quad dominant, which is rarely a stronger position. - Everyone is different with this and it’s not always the case that flat sole shoes allow more weight to be lifted - so today was more of a trial than a permanent change. 💪🏼 - Feeling very motivated to get strong AF right now! 😈

Quick Health Tip
Which type of bread is better for your health, white bread or sourdough bread? Sourdough bread is a healthier choice and one reason is that sourdough bread contains prebiotics which are beneficial to the good bacteria in your gut.
