Lance Bass formerly of 'N Sync was born May 4, 1979 in Laurel, Mississippi. Lance got his first taste of show business in the 8th grade by joining the Mississippi Show Stoppers. A few years later he became a member of a competition choir called Attache. In 1995, Lance was the fifth member selected to become a part of the pop music powerhouse fivesome known as 'N Sync. The other four members include Chris Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez and Joey Fatone. Lance has even attempted to travel into space aboard a Russian rocket, however, a lack of financial sponsorship has put a temporary hold on this endeavor. Lance's most recent home purchase is a $4.5 Million home in the Beverly Hills area. Lance hasn't let success completely pull him away from the roots of his childhood, however. In addition to his California residence, Lance also owns a home in the town of Brandon, Mississippi, just a few short miles from where he originally grew up. This home is located in an upscale community of this town of 16,436 people. Brandon is located approximately 10 miles east of Jackson, Mississippi, which is the state capitol.

On April 24, 2003, Brandon was struck by a tornado during a severe weather outbreak that caused sporadic damage throughout Mississippi. In Lance's neighborhood, the tornado blew over trees and caused minor damage to a few homes. In downtown Brandon, however, there was more extensive property damage, with a few minor injuries being reported. One of the more popular attractions in Lance's Brandon, Mississippi community is the Rapids on the Reservoir water theme park.
