A statement at NeilDiamond.com today says Neil Diamond has announced his retirement from touring due to his recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. Link: http://www.neildiamond.com/news/neil-diamond-announces-retirement-concert-touring-australian-new-zealand-tour-dates-cancelled/

The announcement comes just two days before his 77th birthday. The announcement also states he will continue to write, record and pursue other projects. As I recall all the Neil Diamond songs I know off the top of my head, "America" is probably my favorite. Surprisingly or maybe shockingly is a better word to use, ND was in the midst of a grueling world tour only 3 years shy of his 80th bday.

What's in store for Neil Diamond's health? According to info at https://en.wikipedia.org/ "Parkinson's disease is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms generally come on slowly over time. Early in the disease, the most obvious are shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking. Thinking and behavioral problems may also occur". Actor Michael J. Fox has been battling the condition for years with measurable success, so there is definite hope Neil will be able to successfully manage his health as well.

New England Patriots superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski was injured after a helmet-to-helmet collision, when Jaguars safety Barry Church slammed into him while breaking up a pass from Tom Brady, NFL.com reported. Gronk had to leave the game but thankfully he was ok enough to walk off the field under his own power. Jaguars safety Barry Church got called for unnecessary roughness on the play. Replays showed Church going head first into Gronk so the ref clearly made the right call. The Pats still beat the Jags. Footage of the hit and complete info here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000908639/article/gronkowski-suffers-head-injury-in-pats-afc-title-win.

Sure, pro Wrestling is scripted but the injuries are very real, and when it comes to something as serious as a neck injury you simply don't take any chances. With her go-getter mentality Paige is certainly capable of being just as big of a success at whatever she decides to pursue next.
