The video has collected over 13 million views in under a week, making Rebecca Black a more trendy Internet topic than Charlie Sheen. The song has been widely mocked for its simplistic lyrics and use of vocal auto-tuning but the video views keep tallying up and fast. The thirteen-year-old revealed to The Daily Beast in her first interview since her new-found fame that she was given the option by the record company to pull it from YouTube, but refused, saying: “I decided not to give the haters the satisfaction that they got me so bad I gave up.” Rebecca Black is reportedly scheduled to soon appear on Good Morning America, and On-Air With Ryan Seacrest.
Rebecca Black's mother Georgina is a veterinarian and her stepfather Douglas Kelly is an executive in the automotive insurance claims industry.
