New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was born on Friday, August 12, 1977. Plaxico Burress started his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2000, where he would play for five years before signing with the New York Giants in 2005. In August of 2005 Plaxico Burress paid 1,500,000 for a home in Totowa, New Jersey. Built in 2002 the two-story home is set on just over an acre.

On November 28, 2008, Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg while at a New York City nightclub. In late December 2008, police seized items from Plaxico Burress's home which included a 30.06-caliber rifle and ammunition, a 9-mm handgun, and a clip for a .45 handgun.

Burress also owns a home in the town of Lighthouse Point, Florida which he purchased in September of 2005 for $3,995,000. Lighthouse Point, Florida, is located a few miles north of Fort Lauderdale.
