New Florida Panther's head coach Peter DeBoer is now also a new official resident of Parkland, Florida's Heron Bay East golf club community. DeBoer paid $800,000 for a five bedroom, four bathroom Mediterranean style home with a swimming pool and 5,019 square feet.

Peter DeBoer taking the helm of the Florida Panthers marks his first coaching position in the NHL. DeBoer began his coaching career in 1994 as the assistant coach for the Detroit Junior Red Wings. DeBoer spent his coaching career in the Ontario Hockey League and the American Hockey League before getting the nod to take his coaching skills to the next level in 2009 with the Panthers.

Before becoming a coach Peter DeBoer played for the Windsor Spitfires and the Milwaukee Admirals.
