Before becoming a superstar in the pro wrestling world, Kurt Angle won a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games in the amateur wrestling 90-100 kg division. Angle accomplished the feat despite seriously injuring his neck a few months earlier during the Olympic Trials.
Kurt Angle was born in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania and still lives in the area. In 2002, Kurt Angle purchased a home in the town of Coraopolis, which is just a few miles northwest of Mt. Lebanon.
