Judith Sheindlin, better known as Judge Judy, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Judge Judy married Judge Jerry Sheindlin in 1977. Judge Judy's hit television court show Judge Judy launched in 1996 and remains the most viewed of any court-themed show.

In September of 2007 the Sheindlins purchased a 12.5 acre estate in Greenwich, Connecticut for $13.2 million. In 2008 the Sheindlins had the original home demolished to clear the way for a new 16,993 square foot residence.

Judge Judy and Judge Jerry also maintain a second home in Greenwich which they purchased for $5,150,000 in mid-2002 and a penthouse in Naples, Florida which they purchased in July of 2005 for $6.9 million (pictured below).

Judge Judy began her career in the legal field as a lawyer for a cosmetics firm in 1965 and then as a prosecutor in the New York family courts. Jerry Sheindlin served as a judge on the New York State Supreme Court and was a judge on the television show The People's Court.
