In addition to putting out hit songs over the years with 'N Sync, JC has more recently tried his hand at making hit songs as a solo artist. Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love) from the Drumline soundtrack was JC's first official solo recording and was produced by acclaimed record producer Dallas Austin. Over the years Austin has worked with many highly successful artists such as TLC, Pink, Monica, Boyz II Men, and Madonna just to name a few.

Inspired by the success of his first solo endeavor in early 2003, JC decided to continue his assault on the music charts in late 2003 and early 2004, with Some Girls, which is the lead single from his first album entitled "Schizophrenic". Robb Boldt, Rockwilder, Basement Jaxx, and Riprock 'n Alex G (Alex Greggs) all played a significant role in the album's production. In the past Alex Greggs and JC have also teamed up on song writing projects for 'N Sync, Boz N Girlz United, Pop Stars 2, and Wild Orchid.

JC's Los Angeles, California home is quite different than his central Florida home, where a view of rolling hills replaces the view of a pristine lake. This home includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a swimming pool. JC purchased this home back in 2000 as well, for slightly over over $1 million.
