NBA All-Star point guard Chris Paul was selected as the 4th pick overall by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2005 NBA Draft. Because of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans just eight weeks later, it would be over two years before Chris Paul could actually settle down. In July 2007, Chris Paul purchased adjoining condo units at One River Place for $1.8 million. When combined there are four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half, and 4,558 square feet.

One River Place was completed in 1995. The 14-story building offers a swimming pool and a fitness room.

Also an accomplished bowler, Chris Paul participated in many bowling events in support of programs that benefited Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.
